Real nice draft. Obviously you put a lot of work in. Generally, site is in really good shape. Some criticisms though...
-Too texty. You've got to get rid of blocks of text. Phrases and bullets
-Relatedly, only your thesis statement belongs on homepage.
-Lots of pages. Too many I think. You can put more stuff on any given page without needing a new page. Too many pages makes for confusing navigation.
-Use "houses" of legislature rather than "pieces"
-On the whole, real good draft: 48/50

Your website is a wall of text. It is hard to read and not enjoyable. Your text is all sentences and not phrasal enough. No one cares enough to read this much. Your thesis is an entire freaking paragraph.
Good writing though.

Everytime I look at it it gives me a migraine. It makes me feel that our site is inferior to yours. If that was your goal (to inflict pain on my soul), good job. Your site excels at making me shake in fear.

Very thorough and comprehensive but brutally texty. I understand that it is very difficult to convey abstract ideas visually but that is the challenge of the medium & topic. On the whole, a very good job.

Is the image that you use of Robert Yates authentic? I was told that no portrait exists for Mr. Yates.
